DOORWAY

From your door schedule to CNC

Every door job starts with a schedule, and every door on it is typed in again to program the machine. DOORWAY takes the schedule itself and gives you the CNC programs, the cutlist and the drawings from it.

Why DOORWAY

One schedule drives everything

Duplicated data inputs into schedules, spreadsheets and cutlists inevitably lead to expensive errors, generally discovered too late, once the door has been cut. In DOORWAY, all machining is driven from a single input, so everything aligns, delivering fully integrated core, door and frame programs with matched parts.

Without DOORWAY

  • The schedule lives in a spreadsheet
  • Sizes and positions calculated by hand
  • Every door typed again into CAM
  • The cutlist written up separately
  • Mistakes found at the machine

With DOORWAY

  • Each door entered once, or imported from the customer’s schedule
  • Frame, leaf and hardware positions calculated for you
  • CNC programs from the same numbers
  • The cutlist and drawings printed from the order
  • Every door drawn and checked before anything is cut
Schedule → Program → Produce

DOORWAY reads your door schedule, calculates every size and machining position, and writes the CNC programs, the cutlist and the drawings from it.

  1. 01Schedule

Bring in the customer’s schedule as it came, or enter doors in the wizard or the order sheet.

  2. 02Program

Every size and machining position is calculated from the opening, frame or leaf, and every door is drawn before anything is cut.

  3. 03Produce

Sign the order off, then send the Alphacam programs to the machine and the cutlist to the floor.

Features

Everything a door order needs, measured once

  • Import your schedules

Upload Excel, CSV or a PDF schedule, match its columns once, and every unit arrives as a draft.

  • The order sheet

Edit a whole order like a spreadsheet, with the wizard’s rules checking every cell as you type.

  • Your hardware library

Hinges, locks and latch keeps measured once, with the cut-out each one needs, and used on every door.

  • Packs and presets

Frame specs, hardware packs and vision panel layouts fill a door in one step. Change one, and choose which doors follow.

  • A drawing of every door

Each unit is drawn as it will be made, with hinges, lock, panels and sizes, before anything reaches the machine.

  • Cutlists for the floor

Print or export the cutlist with door drawings and hardware positions, as PDF or Excel.

  • Revisions and sign-off

Each release is kept as a revision, so you can always see what the floor was given and what changed since.

  • Works offline

Keep scheduling in the workshop without a connection. Changes sync when you’re back online.

“We’ve spent 40+ years programming CNC machines and training people on CAM. In that time we watched door makers type the same door into a spreadsheet, then into CAM, then onto a cutlist, so we built DOORWAY to take each door once and do the rest from it.”

Questions

What people ask before a demo

Which machines and CAM software does it work with?

DOORWAY works with Alphacam and is ready to connect to any CNC machine: Homag, Biesse, SCM, Technos, Masterwood, Maka, AES, Felder and more.

Can we bring in our existing schedules?

Yes. Upload an Excel or CSV file, or a PDF schedule. You match its columns to DOORWAY’s fields once, check how its values read, and the units arrive as drafts.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes. It keeps working offline and syncs your changes when the connection comes back.

What kinds of doors can it handle?

Single doors and pairs, equal or asym, either hand, from non-rated up to FD120. Each can have vision panels, hinges, a lock or pull handle, a closer, flush bolts, a drop seal and a kick plate.

Every customer writes their schedule differently. Does that matter?

No. Give each customer a template with their frame spec, finish, hinges and lock sets under their own codes. Their schedule’s codes are read on import, so “DC” puts a closer on the door.
